Kokila better known as Nirupa Roy was famous for portraying the roles of the mother of the Indian actors of the films like Deewar , Amar Akbar Antony . She was from Gujarati family born on 4 th Jan, 1931 at the age of 15 she came to Mumbai but her first film was Ranakdevi a Gujarati film in 1948. She had won the awards for best-supporting actress for the films Munimji , Chhaya , Shehnai and won the lifetime achievement award in the year 2004. She is known as the mother of the Indian film industry. She died in the year 2004 at the age of 73.
